Due to its unique mountain backdrop located at the foot of the Grossglocker, Heiligenblut is one of the most beautiful villages in Austria. 12 kilometres long and almost 2 kilometres wide, Lake Millstatt is located at 588 m above sea level, is 142 m deep and is not only the deepest lake in Carinthia but also the warmest swimming lake in this sunny province. The landscape surrounding it seduces hikers and on the sunny north shores you will find interesting attractions such as the old Millstatt monastery and its church. Nine docks around the lake provide plenty of opportunities to hop on and off the boat.

The primary goal of the bird of prey flight show is to bring the visitor closer to these magnificent birds and to shed some light on their lives and habits. These birds were not captured from the wild but born and bred in captivity. During a 40 minute show you will see these free-flying birds against the backdrop of the famous Castle Landskron.

The Lake Weissen is the cleanest swimming lake in the whole of Europe and was awarded the European award for tourism and environment by the European Union. Set in a 76-square-kilometre-wide protected area, the fjord-like lake offers water of drinking quality. Two-thirds of the lakeshore is undeveloped and offers private and idyllic settings for excursions and day trips.

In an area of 26,000 square metres, Minimundus presents 140 of the most beautiful models of famous buildings, trains and ships in the world. All models are built to a scale of 1:25 exactly. Where possible original materials such as lava basalt, marble or tuff stone are used. Included in the entrance fees are the guided show at the planetarium, the children’s playground and the visit to the historic nature shop.

Gurk is the capital of the dwarf emporium. More than 1,000 dwarfs reign in the Dwarf Park, from Aladdin to the Batman dwarf, the seven dwarfs to the smurfs. Are you interested in history and not familiar with the story of the holy Hemma? Then you should visit the Dome at Gurk. This Roman temple from the 12th century is one of the most important buildings in the history of European sacred art.

The poet Gustav Renker writes about the valley of the falling waters and he is quite right. More water falls in Malta than in other places. Experience the highest waterfall in Carinthia and the Gössfalls. But for you it's more about all the fun in the Malta valley - lidos, tennis, horseback riding - or the adventures - paragliding or climbing. Malta has plenty of Alpine chalets for refreshments, as well as the “Tauernkönigin” (Tauern queen) Hochalmspitze Summit (3,360 m), the nature theme path and a water mill that has been running for centuries.

Audacious is the word to describe the routing of the 14.4-kilometre-long road through the valley of the falling waters. Adventure stops such as the Malteiner water-games are inviting. At 2,000 m you will find the 200 m-high Kölnbrein dam. Take part in a guided tour into the inside of the dam wall.

Hochosterwitz is one of the most famous castles in Austria. Its location on top of a 150 m-high rock is simply unique. Thanks to the 14 defensive gates and the brilliant defensive architecture the castle was never conquered! The castle has been owned by the Khevenhüller family since its construction in the 16th century.

This unique cave world with 200 million years of geological history has an 800 m-long underground adventure park with living dripstones (which are a rarity across Europe) and clearly visible traces of miners who used to work here a long time ago.
