What Makes Snowshoe Hiking Special?

Snowshoe hiking is one of the most original and natural ways to experience winter. One of its greatest advantages is that it requires no previous experience. After just a few steps, most beginners quickly get the feel for it.

Moving through untouched nature, far away from slopes and lifts, gives you a unique sense of freedom. With each step through the sparkling snow, you leave everyday life behind and immerse yourself in the quiet winter world of the Carinthian Nockberge. Snowshoe hiking is also especially healthy: it activates the whole body, strengthens the cardiovascular system and boosts the immune system — all in the clear, fresh mountain air at over 1,000 meters above sea level.

You set the pace yourself. Whether sporty on your own, relaxed as a couple, or enjoying the experience with friends or family — snowshoe hiking is suitable for all ages and a wonderful alternative for anyone who doesn’t ski.
